TIP # 4

Is it just me, or is AOL's browser really slow?

Question:  I have a Pentium III PC with a 56K modem, 128MB of RAM and the latest version of AOL's software. But their Web browser is always slow. Is it my system or their software?

The Internet Explorer browser works a lot faster than AOL's—that's been my experience, at least. See what you think. Here's how to do it:

Answer:  First, log on to AOL as you usually do.

Next, minimize the AOL Window.

Now, locate the Internet Explorer icon that's on your system. It's the "E" with a circle around it and is usually in the lower part of your screen.

Double-click the icon to launch Internet Explorer; surf as you usually would, then when you're ready to call it a day, just close the IE browser and go back to AOL.
